Parents
          Tomorrow is the conclusion of Catholic Schools Week.  
We will be celebrating Mass in the morning at St. Patrick's Church. 
                
  • Drop Students off at St. Patrick’s Church by 7:50 a.m.
  • Kindergarteners must have their car/booster seat. 
  • Seats may be left in the front lobby.
  • After Mass they will be driven from the church to school.
  • Kindergarten brings a bag lunch for St. Vincent DePaul.

1-26-15 Catholic Schools Week

 Please label all sweatshirts and jackets.  There have been many lost or unclaimed jackets and sweatshirts recently.

Catholic Schools Week: This is a very busy week for us. Please note the dates and activities below so that the children are prepare for the many fun events that take place at this time.

Monday-  Community Appreciation   
Student Council will deliver baked goods donated by the teachers to businesses.
                   Movie With Faith Families

Tuesday-   Bring a sack lunch.
No Hot Lunch today or tomorrow. 
                  Buddy Day: Bring a gift for your buddy ($2-$3) 
                  Our Buddies are our 8th grade Faith Family Leaders
                  Blue and White Free Dress – wear OLM Spirit shirt.

Wednesday –   Cherish Luncheon for the seniors of our community.
                           NO HOT LUNCH. 

 Thursday –        "Souper" Bowl Day:  bring in a can of soup.
                           Faith Family Feud Activity. 
Father/Son and Mother/Daughter Basketball Games 6:00p.m.

Friday –     Drop Students off at St. Patrick’s Church.
                  Kindergarteners must have their car/booster seat.
Students are to arrive by 7:50 a.m.
After Mass they will be driven from the church to school.
Kindergarten brings a bag lunch for St. Vincent DePaul.
                  Teacher vs. 8th grade volleyball game 1:30.

Help Needed: 
Our country for International Night is Thailand. If you have any items ( coins, postcards, photos, etc) from the Thailand, can we borrow them? Thanks!

Permission Slips/ Drivers Needed:
Thank you also to those that have signed and returned the permission slips for the Catholic Schools Mass at St. Patrick's.  If you have not already returned the permission slip, please do so as soon as possible.  I will be in need of drivers.  If you can help out it would be greatly appreciated.

Catholic Schools Week:
The Sunday 9:00 mass, January 25, will kick off Catholic Schools Week.  Make sure your child wears their school uniform to the mass if they are attending.  More information about the week will be in next week's blog.  

REMINDERS:

Please follow the dress code as outlined in the parent handbook.  Some items that are worn are not acceptable. Remember, leggings are not allowed only socks and tights are acceptable.  Boots are not part of the dress code.

Please check your child's homework before it is returned.  Be sure to do the bonus questions.

Welcome back to school, I hope that you all had a restful and wonderful vacation.  Mrs. De Leon, Mrs. Pedrozo and I would like to thank all of you for the very thoughtful cards, gifts and best wishes given to us for Christmas.  We are so thankful to have such wonderful parents and students.
Thank you also for all the Christmas Party goodies.  The children really enjoyed the snacks!
Homework Packets:  We will send out the new homework packet on Friday.
Report Cards: Report cards go home Friday. Please read, sign and return as soon as possible.

Christmas Party:  We will have a special snack, treat, and juice Friday, December 19th.

Uniform Dress Code:
Please be aware, the only sweatshirt allowed is the OLM sweater/sweatshirt.  Jackets (any color) may be worn at recess on the playground only.  Also the rules and guidelines can be found in the parent handbook.

Spirit of Christmas: Student council is sponsoring an all school Christmas Food Drive. Please bring in a can of green beans, corn or peas.  We are also accepting warm clothes and toys.  Thank you for those that have already brought in a donation.

Homework:
No homework will be sent home this week.  Homework will be sent home the Friday that we return to school.

Please continue to practice letter and number recognition (upper and lower case) letter sound association, and sight words. We are also working on ordinal numbers (first, second, third, etc), writing our numbers 1-30,  rhyming words, in addition to blending and segmenting words (b-a-t, bat), and writing. 

Dates to Remember:
12/17 Christmas Program 6:30pm  at St. Pat’s
12/19 Free Dress & Minimum Day.  12:30 Dismissal.  NO EXTENDED CARE
12/22- 1/4  Christmas Vacation
1/5/15  School resumes

Don’t forget Friday dismissal is at 12:30.  There is no Extended Care on this day!
